The dog is a shiba inu and has many good reasons why he should fit in with our family just fine. He isn't going to get very big. I did not want a huge dog running around our house. He also doesn't shed very much which is HUGE in my book. Huge. You also rarely have to bathe them as he likes to be clean. He is constantly licking himself when he feels dirty. The shiba inus are also very smart/trainable. Supposedly they basically train themselves. We got him few days ago at about 4 months old. He is potty trained and out of the chewing stage. wahoo! Two major things I wasn't in the mood to deal with, especially with Carter leaving all his toys everywhere.
He has been a very good dog so far, I have yet to hear him bark. He has been catching on to our house rules quicker than I thought. He's really mellow and loves to follow Carter everywhere. Carter loves to play with him but I think he gets tired of him constantly at his side. We give him a break and its not long before he's looking for him. Bronco has been very good with Carter and we are hoping it stays that way.
He is still getting used to sleeping in a kennel and in a new environment and nights have been a little rough. We are hoping that doesn't last much long. Fingers crossed.
We look forward to summertime when we can take him on lots of walks to the nearby park and dog parks. I am not a dog person so we will see how this goes:)
