Our Remodel

I have been so excited to do our house reveal! We have been remodeling for about 3 months and just finished the very last (big) thing a few days ago. We still have to finish decorating and doing some small things like putting hardware on but I'm so glad to be done! (And so is my husband haha)
First off I want to thank everyone that helped! Richard and my dad did everything themselves. It took a little longer but saved us lots of money and let us upgrade some other things that we wanted to. My father in law also came around a bit to help out. My whole family was there one day to help paint the house, they were awesome. Also a big thanks to my sisters who would watch Carter without any notice so that I could get some things done. We were also very fortunate that Richard's grandparents let us live in their basement to help save money for the house. Thank you everyone!!
Today I wanted to show everyone the kitchen/dining and family room area. I can't believe the change!

Before: Don't mind everyone laying around haha we had just moved some stuff in and they were tired. The house was pretty basic so we were excited to get in there and and do little things like painting that would make a big difference. Speaking of paint, wow can that make a huge difference! The ceilings, baseboards, walls, and doors were all the same color tan. We painted the ceiling, baseboards, doors, and trim white and I couldn't believe it. Again my husband and dad did everything themselves, I was so impressed! Even things that they had never done like plumbing, they were able to figure it out. I, of course, was on the hunt for coupons and deals and found some huge savings! We also did things to save money all around. For example, all the door handles were brass. We were not a big fan but once we looked at the price of new handles (Yikes!) we went to plan B and spray painted them silver. We did a lot of DIY things to save money. I also stained the cabinets and banister by myself with this amazing thing called Gel Stain! I will do a tutorial soon because this stuff was seriously amazing!! We spent and did a lot more that we were initially planning on but now I'm so happy we did because I know after we moved in it would have never gotten done! We did everything! We basically gutted the house. If you would have asked me during it I'm not sure I'd say it was worth it, but now that it is done it absolutely was. I love my house!!

Pumpkin Patch

We love Halloween time! We have been crazy busy with our remodel but we needed to take Carter out to do something fun. Nothing better this time of year then going to the pumpkin patch!
Carter was so amused by all the people and pumpkins. He would not hold still. He was running around touching all the pumpkins and giving them hugs. He did not like when we would pick him up for a picture, hence in all the pictures he wouldn't smile :( he's still cute. He picked the perfect pumpkin that we are going to let him paint this week.

HOMEOWNERS

We are officially homeowners!! I have been looking and looking for the perfect house for a long time. After finally getting a realtor (if you need a great one, let me know) we had found the perfect house in about a month. We closed on the house the end of September. We have since moved in with some relatives though because we are doing some work on the house. We had some walls to knock out along with many other things! haha We have been SUPER busy but it is going by fast and we should be in soon. I can't wait! Stay tuned for lots of before and afters!

Welcome Home

She's home!! I can't believe it has been 18 months since my sister, Kaylee, left on a mission. Georgia was a lucky to have her. She has looked forward to serving a mission for as long as I can remember. She did amazing work while serving the Lord, but we are very happy to have her home! It was extra special because I had Carter while she was gone. She had only seen him via Skype and pictures. I was very excited for them to meet!
Kaylee had sent us all shirts for us to wear at the airport that she had bought in Georgia. As you can see everyone is happy she's back!

Beach Day

Carter loves the water! So yesterday, with my family, we took Carter to the beach... in Herriman! It was really hot yesterday so it was the perfect way to cool down. It was really busy with all the kids that haven't started school yet.
The water was a good temperature, Carter didn't want to leave the water. Next time I will remember his floaties so he can go further out:)

Demolition Derby

We had so much fun this weekend! It was a holiday so Richard got Friday off, woo! We love long weekends with him!We spent Saturday in Heber watching Richard's good friend, Robby, drive in the demolition derby.
It was so loud but once we put the earmuffs on Carter he fell asleep for over an hour. I do not know how he always sleeps in these loud places! He loved playing in his car. He was screaming with excitement jumping in the seat:)
